The catering squad of the Southern Wine Route district has received a new cooling trailer worth 12,000 euros. This purchase was financed by a donation from the Hubert Eichenlaub Foundation. The new cooling trailer is a two -axle man that can be used for the transport of material, meals and food as well as for cooling food and drinks. District Administrator Dietmar Seefeldt reported that another vehicle, a multi -purpose vehicle worth around 120,000 euros, was ordered for the catering squad.
The meal team currently consists of 24 members and has the task of supplying people or emergency services in various operations. Markus Dudenhöffer, the catering unit manager, informed about the diverse tasks of the group, which above all contain the correct storage and cooling of food. These measures are crucial for ensuring quality and security.

District Administrator Dietmar Seefeldt thanked the catering team for their support at fire brigade operations and events when the cooling trailer was handed over. The part of the state parliament member Sven Koch, Mayor Christian Sommer as well as deputy fire and disaster protection inspector Michael Trautmann were among those present. Dudenhöffer emphasized the importance of the new trailer for the usefulness of the team and the appreciation of their work.for the SEG-V, which has rented part of a hall in Herxheim since summer 2023 to offer more space for the equipment, a new multi-purpose vehicle type 2 was also commissioned. This vehicle has costs of around 120,000 euros and supplements the existing equipment, which also includes a federal support truck and a field cooker procured in 2021.
