In Euskirchen there is a big festival: On April 26 and 27, 2025, the city celebrates the 18th Euskirchen city festival, which at the same time marks the inauguration of the renovated pedestrian zone. The event takes place almost four years after the devastating flood disaster, which has significantly damaged the city center. Neustrasse and Berliner Straße in particular had to be extensively renovated, which the city presented with great challenges.
The renovation work that started in February 2023 were planned together with the owners, residents and traders. Despite the intensive construction work, the city center remains available throughout the time, and the city has tried to minimize possible restrictions for passers -by and residents. Economic promotion Tanja Gille noted that not all improvement requests could be implemented until the inauguration, but the pedestrian zone is largely ready, which is supposed to support the trade in the region.

The city festival offers a diverse program with live music on a stage on the old market. The celebrations begin on Saturday, when the classic Oeskerche coach is offered on Gardebrunnenplatz. The first open Sunday of the year will take place on Sunday, whereby the shops will open at 1 p.m.
Musically, the festival is enriched by different bands. On Saturday, among other things, the Euskirchen Circle of Singing and the Ensemble Cologne Salon Rockester, which presents rocks from songs from the 20s and 30s. On Sunday, the dialect band Wibbelstetz Eifelrock will present from its new album. For the younger visitors there is the "Katta's World Playmobile" on the heart of the Sacred Heart Jesu forecourt.
French market inspires visitors
Another attraction of the event is the French market opened on April 24 on the monastery square. There, guests can enjoy culinary specialties such as cheese, croissants and tartes. The city marketing association hopes that the barrier -free city center will attract many visitors and is happy to create such an inviting atmosphere.
