An 80-year-old man was victim to a brutal attack in Gelsenkirchen on November 3, 2024. According to a report by Bild , the local perpetrator initially followed the victim before he suddenly struck. The attack occurred around 10 p.m., with the suspect putting a blow to the seniors against his head and tearing him off his hat.

After the attack, the suspect fled to the Heinrich-König-Platz subway station. Security cameras in the station have recorded the perpetrator what the police could help with the search.
