New Business Park in Schalke: 72,000 square meters for companies!
On February 14, 2025, the construction started for the "MLP Business Park Schalke" in Gelsenkirchen. The MLP Group, a leading developer and owner of logistics and business parks in Europe, invests over 40 million euros in this important project. A future-oriented business park is created on a 120,000 square meter site on which the Thyssen wire plant once stood, which is intended to promote the settlement of small and medium-sized companies. It is planned to provide around 72,000 square meters of commercial space.
The construction work is directed by the renowned construction company Bremer. The first halls with a rental area of around 30,000 square meters are expected to go into operation in the fourth quarter of 2025. The entire complex is part of the integrated development concept Schalke-Nord, which aims to upgrade the district.
sustainability in focus
A central element of the MLP Business Park is sustainability. The buildings are being built in a resource-saving manner and are intended to offer modern office and social rooms. In addition, spacious green areas are planned to improve the quality of life in the district. Photovoltaic systems are installed on the roofs, and care is taken to include only recyclable materials and regional companies.
design and development
The development plan for the project is expected to be available in mid -2023. The demolition work of the existing buildings should be completed at the end of 2021, so that the company in the new Business Park could begin between middle and late 2024. Particular attention is also paid to the aesthetic design of the park; There are considerations for an artist competition to beautify the western building facade.
With this project, the MLP Group not only pursues business goals, but also social responsibility. The development takes place in accordance with the standards of the MLP Group's sustainability strategy, which strives for DGNB gold certification. By creating modern and sustainable work rooms, the attractiveness of Gelsenkirchen as a business location is to be increased.Details | |
