Vanessa Hinz, the former biathlete, ended her career almost two years ago and returned to her home at Schliersee for Christmas. The duo Simon Schempp and Vanessa Hinz won the 15th World Team Challenge in Gelsenkirchen, like t-online.de reported. They prevailed in the competition against Erik Lesser and Franziska Hildebrand and received a check for 28,000 euros. Schempp and Hinz were behind Lesser and Hildebrand after the mass start, but were able to catch up in the persecution and achieve the victory with a lead of 16.7 seconds.

Originally, Schempp was supposed to compete with Franziska Preuss, but who had to cancel due to illness. The Russians Alexej Wolkow and Olga Podtschufarnowa secured third place, supervised by Ricco Groß. The competition was endowed with a total of 156,000 euros.
