Special command grabs 20-year-olds: threats on the net!

In Hagen, a 20-year-old man was arrested by a special operational command (SEK). The arrest was made due to the threats of attacks that the man had expressed about a messenger service. The SEK access took place in the suspect's parental apartment at noon after the police had experienced his presumably questionable statements in a social network.

The measure, which was carried out due to indications of a possible armament of the man by special forces, went without complications. To the surprise of the officials, no weapons were found when the apartment was searched in the Haspe district. There is currently no evidence of a risk to public events in the region.

Investigations and security policy reactions

The state protection of the Hagen police took over the investigation. North Rhine-Westphalia's Interior Minister Herbert Reul commented and emphasized the need to rethink data protection in order to improve the information work of the security authorities. It should also be mentioned that a week ago in Lennestadt, two men were also arrested due to an unspecified risk situation, such as SPIEGEL ONLINE reported .
