Successful weekend for Heinsberger Ju Jutsu fighters: medal rain!
On February 27, 2025, the Ju-Jutsu Club Heinsberg takes successful balance over the activities of the past year. Trainer Oliver Anderski reported on the exams that took place last year and in which five student exams were successfully completed. In spring 2024 the first Dan Black belt was awarded, an important step for the club.

The work in two groups should be emphasized, which work on new techniques and courses. The project "Ju Jutsu Fighting", which is led by Oliver Anderski, is very popular, and many students take part in the Fighting Training.

The first Kyu examination took place on February 21. Here, students competed in various belt tests: yellow belt for Abdel and Jana, as well as orange belt for Roy and Mayson. Jana's performance was particularly gratifying, which received the full belt in yellow instead of a strip test and was also awarded the best of the examination with the highest score.
On Saturday after the examination, around 25 students took part in regular training, while a delegation from the Ju-Jutsu Club Heinsberg took part in the state competition in Rhede. This was the first competition of the traditional association after almost 40 years, a historical event. The board was proud of the participation in the competition, despite the concerns of coach Anderski with regard to the experience of the team.
The efforts were rewarded because the JJC Heinsberg achieved outstanding results in the competition with 158 participants and won a total of four medals:

In addition, Sabine and Lia Horsten took the 4th place, but without a medal. However, there is a concern: Ana injured and needed medical care during a fight. On a positive note, Destiny Uweh received an invitation to the cadre sighting, which underlines her talented development. Overall, it was a successful weekend for the athletes of the Ju-Jutsu Club Heinsberg.

The Ju-Jutsu Club Heinsberg currently has around 100 members in three age groups. In the future, the opening of a judo department will also be planned to expand the sporting offer. The focus is on clearly defined standards as well as increased flexibility in training and exam design. These innovations should deepen the understanding of judo and make it easier to get started. During the first exams, basic techniques are focused on and expanded into more complex techniques with progressive graduation, which also influences and demands the test subjects in the JJC Heinsberg.
