New shops in Erkelenz: Mayor celebrates openings with the city!

On January 27, 2025, Mayor Stephan Muckel and Karin Masuch from city marketing visited new shops in downtown Erkelenz. On this day, several business openings were celebrated, in which small attentions were presented. This includes the opening of "Triumph-The Stair Lift Partner", which now run a showroom at the Johannismarkt 1-2. This location is managed as a sub -tenant of the Falc real estate office. Sebastian Lehmann, Jannik Corsten and Iranga Jayasinge are the managing director of the company. Triumph offers tailor -made solutions for people with motor restrictions and also advises on grants and regional funding. Interested parties should make an appointment in advance.

In addition, the personnel service provider Pecoma at Kölner Strasse 16 also opened a contact point in early 2025. The focus of this location is particularly on the support of customers from the Heinsberger Land. Managing Director Dirk Meurer and employee Tim Schweitzer offer support in recruitment as well as logistical services. Another highlight of the new openings is the Xheidis hairdressing salon, which opened its gates in the former hairdressing salon Wüllenweber at the Ostpromenade 13 at the end of 2024. Under the direction of master hairdresser Xhejdi Keli, the team presents current techniques, trends and individual wishes for customers.

funding and projects in the city center

In addition to the shops, the city also started initiatives to upgrade the city center. Project ideas can be submitted to promote social interaction and organize events. A disposal fund has been set up, which consists of 50% of public and 50% of private funds. The federal, state and city also promote every privately employed euro with one euro of public support. A project advisory board decides on the support of the submitted proposals, which are to be implemented in the inner city of Erkelenz-Mitte, which was already decided in 2020.

Possible projects within the framework of this initiative include markets, festivals, art objects, city furniture, play equipment, plantings, lighting and information brochures. Inquiries and applications for financial grants can be submitted directly to the city marketing of the city of Erkelenz. Karin Masuch is available as a contact person, available on 02431/85252 or by email to karin.masuch@erkelenz.de.

business development and challenges

The openings and projects in Erkelenz are part of a larger strategy to strengthen the local economy. In view of the challenges in mobility, labor market and consumption habits, targeted economic development is crucial. Local funding agencies act as a link between administration, politics and business and support in the establishment of new companies and the support of existing companies. Current priorities include sustainability, innovation and regional development, as shown by various studies.

The measures for business development in Erkelenz are therefore not only important for local companies, but also contribute to the long -term development of the city. City marketing and local companies work hand in hand to further increase the attractiveness of Erkelenz.
