Students collect impressive 260 euros for war graves!

On January 15, 2025, a special honor for committed students took place in the Herford district. District Administrator Jürgen Müller paid tribute to the efforts of 21 young people who had actively participated in a fundraising campaign for the Volksbund Deutsche Wargräberfürsorge e.V. This initiative, in which around 260 euros were collected, took place in November last year. Several schools, in particular the Ernst Barlach Realschule, took part.

Class 10b under the direction of teacher Nadja Weigand went from door to door in her free time to clarify and collect the community about the goals of the Volksbund. The students reported mostly positive experiences, which made the action a valuable experience in their personal development. District Administrator Müller emphasized how important such projects are for young people because they not only generate financial means, but also promote social skills.
