The event promises to give valuable insights into the fascinating world of joint surgery.

medical expertise in joint surgery

The clinic for trauma surgery and orthopedics in which the joint forum takes place offers extensive treatment options in joint surgery. Under the direction of Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Andreas Strauß and the senior physician Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Max Jaenisch and Dr. med. Henry Pennig is one of the leading facilities for endoprosthetics in Germany. This department is specifically geared towards joint -preserving and joint -setting therapies and offers advanced methods and innovative techniques.

The national endoprosthesis center of maximum supply (EPZMAX) covers both joint -preserving and joint -setting therapies, and there is a particular focus on the differential diagnosis of painful endoprostheses and on biological reconstruction in periprothetic bone defects in the event of revision. In addition, the possibility of individual selection and preparation of "Custom-Made" implants plays a central role in the treatment concept.

comprehensive patient care

Another innovative approach of the clinic is the integrated and orthopedic-accident surgical concept (Ingerou). This concept reacts to demographic change and aims to offer geriatric patients comprehensive interprofessional complex treatment. In view of the increased complication rate for operations of this patient group, the focus is on restoring physical integrity and avoiding need for care through early and late postoperative measures.

The range of services of the clinic includes a variety of joint surgery treatments. These include arthroscopic operations on the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle, joint -preserving conversion osteotomies, autologous cartilage cell transplantation and extensive foot surgery. The specialized teams are also able to treat acute injuries and to carry out reconstructions in the event of an accident -related late consequences.

In summary, it can be said that the event in the Herne Evangelical Hospital will offer both current medical information and valuable contacts for everyone interested. The combination of free participation and top -class lectures makes the joint forum an important contact point for everyone who wants to deal with modern joint operations and their effects on the quality of life.
