New Year's reception: Schornsteinfeger celebrate new orders in Arnsberg
On January 17, 2025, the New Year's reception of the chimney sweep guild took place at the Arnsberg district government. District President Heinrich Böckelühr presented 22 order certificates to newly appointed authorized district chimney sweeps. Four new orders were announced among these in the sweeping districts of the Hochsauerlandkreis. A total of around 200 chimney sweeps took part in the event, which served the exchange and networking within the craft.
The newly ordered chimney sweeps for the Hochsauerlandkreis from January 1, 2025 are: Daniel Dickmann for Kehrdärk Hochsauerlandkreis 25, Matthias Becker for sweeping district of Hochsauerlandkreis 01 and Philip Bieberstedt for Kehr district of Hochsauerlandkreis 29. Hochsauerlandkreis 12 will be responsible. These orders were required because the sweeping districts have been awarded for a period of seven years since the reform in 2013.

- Philip Bieberstedt : Marsberger districts of Westheim, Oesdorf, Meerhof, Essentho, parts of Niedermarsberg.
- Olaf Müller : districts of Meschede, Schmallenberg, Eslohe.
The orders in the Hochsauerlandkreis are part of a larger program, required by the reform mentioned, which has changed the allocation of sweeping districts. Before 2013, these were awarded for life, which severely restricted the competition in chimney sweeping.
