Tim Köhler was born in Brilon in 1998 and grew up in Olsberg. He started playing saxophone at the age of six. He initially completed a bachelor's degree in a jazz saxophone at the university in Hanover and has been enrolled in the master's degree at the Folkwang University of the Arts since 2022. In addition to his artistic work, he also teaches at the Saarn Music School in Mülheim an der Ruhr and at the youth art school in Unna.

The diverse interests of Köhler extend over jazz, fusion, pop and rock. He also works intensively on arrangements and compositions, which illustrates his commitment to the further development of jazz. He also appears in changing casts, including in a fixed duo with bass player Eduardo Lara.
