Digital rescue: Kleve revolutionizes patient data in emergency service!

In the district of Kleve, the emergency services have undergone a decisive modernization. The digital patient data recording was successfully switched to mobile systems. This happened in close cooperation with the Radboud Universitair Medisch Centrum (Radboud UMC) in Nijmegen, which has been integrated into the system since mid -March 2023. A workflow is established under the motto "Veiligheid Zonder Limit - Security without Borders", which significantly improves the cross -border communication between emergency services and hospitals.

The region's rescue workers have been using the "Nida Pads" for digital recording relevant patient data for several years. These include blood pressure, pulse and ECG measurements as well as photos that are taken during the operations. This information is transmitted to the receiving hospital in real time. As a result, the medical staff can be optimally prepared for the patient's arrival, which is particularly important in emergency situations.

technological innovations and cross -border cooperation

A new interface developed in cooperation with the Center for Telemedicine in Bad Kissingen now also enables the digital registration of patients in hospitals across borders. This progress contributes to reducing language barriers and communication problems by providing standardized data records. The electronic transmission of ECG data and visual information makes it easier to assess and prepare the clinic staff.

The cooperation between the Rescue Service Kreis Kleve and the Radboud UMC sets a strong sign of digitization in healthcare. This creates an important prerequisite for a functioning cross -border rescue chain, which counts every minute. The aim is to optimize the offers for patients and thus increase the chances of survival in critical situations.

focus on IT security in the emergency services

The digitization of devices in the emergency services offers support in many areas, including treatment, documentation and operational management. This means that employees can gain more time for medical treatments. Early transmission between the control center, rescue center and hospital optimizes the overall process considerably. Nevertheless, there are also challenges: security risks such as unchanged standard passwords, unencrypted data transmissions and missing security updates must be addressed to ensure the integrity of the new systems.

In the coming months, two further sub -studies will be published as part of the project that deepen the previous knowledge and make concrete recommendations for future development in the digital emergency services.
