Garbage collection campaign in Emmerich: Together for a clean environment!
On March 22nd, the third dirt path day took place in the Kolpinghaus in Emmerich on the Rhine, which met with lively interest. Around 40 committed adults and children took part in the garbage collection campaign. The event was organized by Götz Spaan by the Kolping Family and Marco Braun from the young shooters.
The participants received pliers and garbage bags to free the surroundings of waste. In small groups, they set out to collect the garbage in Eltens. The campaign lasted about two and a half hours and brought surprising results: around four cubic meters of garbage were collected, including bottles, cans, packaging, a keyboard, a ceramic cooking field, wooden beams, waste metal and even a filled AdBlue packaging.
catering and thanks
After the strenuous collection campaign, the participants were tasted with sausages in the roll and refreshing drinks. These were generously donated by Hotel-Restaurant Wanders as well as Steffen and Thorsten Gartenmeier, the tenants of the Kolpinghaus. In addition, each of the youngest participants received a certificate and sweets as recognition for their commitment.
Special thanks go to the local companies Emmerich, who provided the provision of containers, pliers and garbage bags. Such actions such as the dirty path day are part of a greater commitment to environmental protection that goes beyond local initiatives.
global engagement in climate protection
The topic of climate protection has become very important in recent years. Volunteers take on important tasks in various projects to sensitize the local population to topics such as recycling, biodiversity and pollution. In this way, volunteers not only get to know the importance of these topics, but also pass on their knowledge to others, as volunteer work.de
There are numerous opportunities for committed people worldwide to become active as part of volunteer projects. This ranges from rubbish on coasts in Bilbao, Spain, to sustainable charcoal incentive projects in Ghana. volunteer work.de emphasizes that such projects not only protect the environment, but also create personal networks and help reduce the CO2 footprint of the participants through compensation payments.
By gaining experiences in various climate protection projects, volunteers have the opportunity to actively work for the planet. Whether in Nepal, where recycled paper is made from elephant, or in Iceland, where trees are planted - the variety of projects shows how important the commitment to environmental protection is at a global level.
