Preparations for the State Garden Show 2029 in Kleve take shape. The design competition took place on February 3, 2025, which was organized by the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the city of Kleve. A total of 25 students took part in this creative competition, whose jury consisted of 13 members, including Mayor Wolfgang Gebing and Klaus Kysers, Managing Director of the Landesgartenschau Kleve gGmbH.
The winner, Mariam Hachem, convinced the jury with its dynamic and modern logo design. Their design, which is inspired by the curved line of a ranking plant, bears the lettering "State Garden Show Kleve 2029". The overall winner receives a prize money of 7,000 euros. The jury had to make a difficult decision due to the high quality of the submitted works. Both Prof. Dr. Locker-Grütjen, President of the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, and the jury paid tribute to the diversity and innovative strength of the designs.
The winning logan is to be supported by a flexible design system with 30 additional symbols that complement the logo. This system is designed in such a way that it can be used in many ways in various media, such as brochures and T-shirts. The support from professors and external design experts ensured that the students received valuable feedback and suggestions.
