Kreis Kleve celebrates 50 years: anniversary events attract visitors!

The district of Kleve celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025 and is planning a number of festive events. The municipal reorganization in 1975 led to the formation of the large district, which today comprises 16 cities and municipalities. District Administrator Christoph Gerwers competes with the aim of bringing the anniversary closer to the citizens. The planned festive events are as follows:

- Rees: March 21
- Geldern: May 09
- Kleve: November 21

A quota of admission tickets is raffled off to address a wide audience. Details on the ticket raffle and the event content will be announced promptly by the district administration. In order to celebrate the anniversary, digital formats are offered, including the years of "50 years". A "highlight" or "insider tip" is presented in the district area weekly. These 50 eye -catchers were selected in cooperation with the 16 cities and municipalities. State Councilor Gerwers thanked the municipalities for their support.

A digital exhibition entitled "Time jumps" will present historical and current photos of places in the Kleve district, including striking motifs such as the Museum Schloss Moyland and the site of the old Klever harbor.

in Xanten is reminded of the long tradition of Protestants, which have been based there for at least 450 years. An anniversary year on the subject of "450 years of Evangelical Life in Xanten" began with a festival service on Easter Monday, which of President Dr. Thorsten Latzel was designed. • Lecture by predicant Jürgen Rosen on September 15th at 7:30 p.m. about the parish in the Evangelical Church of Xanten.
• Participation in the "Day of Open Churches" on September 23 from 6 p.m. with a cultural program in the Evangelical Church of Xanten.
• Ferien program "Young and agile" for young people in the autumn holidays, with actor Adrian Hildebrandt on October 15th at 5 p.m.
• concert on October 30th at 5 p.m. in the Evangelical Church of Xanten with music from the Middle Ages and Reformation, performed by the "Convivium Musicale".
• Ecumenical service on the Reformation Day, October 31 at 7 p.m. in the Xanten Cathedral.

Another project stipulates that 16 citizens have written off the Gospel of Mark in their own manuscript. The gospel is comprised in a bound form and exhibited in the showcase of the Evangelical Church.
