Dreikönigssingen campaign 2025
In the Archdiocese of Cologne, the solemn broadcast of the Sternsinger was celebrated on December 27th in Cologne Cathedral. This campaign is organized by the youth, school and university pastoral and the BDKJ Diocesan Association of Cologne. After the service there was another highlight: a cocoa drinking in front of the Domforum. The broadcasting ceremony was broadcast live on www.domradio.de.
The 67th Dreikönigssingen campaign 2025 bears the motto "Raise your voice! - star singing for children's rights". This campaign deals with pressing topics, such as the fact that 250 million children, especially girls worldwide, cannot attend school and are forced to work 160 million children, often under exploitial conditions. It is particularly worrying that every fourth child is affected by malnutrition and over 43 million children and adolescents are on the run. It is of crucial importance to strengthen child rights and to promote their implementation.
The nationwide opening of the Epiphany took place on December 28th in Paderborn. This event was also broadcast live on Domradio.de. Traditionally, the star singers write the blessing 20*C+M+B+25 on front doors or add stickers. These are the initial letters for the Latin sentence "Christus Mansionem Benedicat", which means "Christ bless this house". Since the campaign was founded in 1959, around 1.36 billion euros have been collected for projects to support disadvantaged children in various regions. These projects cover a wide range of areas, including education, nutrition, health, child protection, emergency aid, pastoral tasks and social integration. The campaign is supported by the children's mission work "Die Sternsinger" and the Federation of German Catholic Youth (BDKJ).
