New elections are imminent: Who are the candidates in the Höxter constituency?

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier dissolved the Bundestag on January 4, 2025, which resulted in new elections on February 23, 2025. The step came after the traffic light coalition failed in November 2023, and the political parties take the opportunity to nominate their candidates for the Höxter-Gütersloh II-Lippe II constituency.

The constituency comprises a total of ten cities in the Höxter district and parts of Lippe and Gütersloh. In the past few weeks, the nominations for the Bundestag election 2025 have been specified.

  • Christian Haase (CDU)
    - already nominated in June 2023 as a candidate for the Bundestag election in 2025.

  • Katrin Freiberger (SPD)

  • Dennis Niedermark (FDP)
    -36 years old, born in Büren and since 2022 chairman of the FDP Willebadessen.
    -He focuses on economic policy and the promotion of medium-sized businesses.
  • Klaus Lange (AfD)
    - was elected by a large majority.
    - addresses fundamental rights, migration, energy prices and housing shortages.
    - is committed to the traditional family and is calling for the protection of German culture and a restrictive refugee policy. and worked as a professional driver.
