Magic of lights in Wuppertal: 7,000 candles transform the city!

On Friday, January 3., 2025, a New Year's concert with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne will take place in the Cologne Philharmonic. Under the direction of conductor Markus Stenz, the orchestra will perform classic pieces by Richard Strauss, Emmanuel Chabrier and Maurice Ravel. The prices for the concert begin at 5.50 euros and go up to 62 euros.

In addition, visitors to Wonderland Kalkar can experience the "Wunderlights" between November 23, 2024 and February 2, 2025. This event only takes place on weekends, but daily during the Christmas holidays. The event offers magical worlds with illuminated winter animals, dinosaurs, a winter food market and ice skating. The admission prices are 13 euros in online pre-sale and 15 euros at the box office; Children up to 2 years have free admission.

In the Cologne Zoo, the event "China Lights" will be offered from December 13, 2024 to February 2, 2025. Daily from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., except on December 24 and 31, visitors can marvel at around 77 light installations. The admission prices are 23 euros for adults and 11 euros for children up to 12 years. Subject areas include "fascinating sea worlds" and "treasures of nature" and the exhibition celebrates the 165th anniversary of the zoo.

Another interesting event is the solo exhibition "Yoko Ono. Music of the Mind", which can be seen in the K20 in Düsseldorf until March 16, 2025. Entry costs 16 euros. The immersive exhibition "Monet's Garden in Cologne", which takes place in the Aleegria Exhibition Hall until January 26, 2025, also attracts visitors. Entertainment offers a music and fire show in the Else Park, accompanied by dance performances. The idea comes from the artist Diemut Schilling and the non -profit association "Neighborhood Home", who launched this event 25 years ago. The event is completed at the Republic.
