Crime in the city center recorded an increase in 231 crimes with guns - 18 cases more than in the previous year.

A total of 53,491 crimes in West Hesse were recorded, which means an increase of 288 compared to the previous year. The clarification rate fell to 55.4 percent, which is attributed to statistical subsequent recruits. If this correction had not been made, the quota would still be 59.4 percent. The crime burden in Wiesbaden is 7,216 criminal offenses per 100,000 inhabitants, which is below the previous year's value of 7,275.
In Wiesbaden, around 20,600 crimes were registered, which represents eleven cases more than in 2023. There is a worrying development in bicycle thefts: with 625 cases, maximum stalls were reached here. The police appealed to cyclists to better secure their bicycles. The damage by bicycle thefts in Westhessen amounts to four million euros.

The "Safe Wiesbaden" initiative contributed to the stable location of street crime with an additional 11,200 hours. In the city center, 70 cameras are used for video surveillance that have a preventive effect. In the area of illegal car races, 17 cases were registered, which represents a decline compared to 2023 (23 cases), but more than the five in 2022.
The Federal Youth Ministry also plays an active role in the field of crime and violence prevention. It stimulates specialist discussions and focuses on avoiding child and youth crime. Around 5-10 percent of suspects repeatedly commit crimes and are often affected by complex social problems such as social disadvantage, experiences of violence and school problems. The strengthening of the cooperation between child and youth welfare, school, police and judiciary is of central importance for the implementation of preventive measures.
