New chairman of the AG 60plus: Seniors are calling for hearing in Haan!

The AG 60plus of the Haaner SPD chose a new board at its annual general meeting. Klaus Thörmer takes over the helm as the new chairman and is supported by Lutz Grätz as deputy. Other members of the newly elected board are the assessors Sabine Haesen, Gudrun Thörmer, Bernhard Hadaschik and Gerd-Peter Heinrich, all of whom were elected unanimously. Gerd-Peter Heinrich, the outgoing speaker, took a positive record over the past two years.

During this time, the AG 60plus offered various technical discussions on relevant topics to specifically address older people. In the future, events such as a political morning pint and press releases, in particular on topics such as the closure of the hospital and the service restrictions for seniors, are planned. The commitment of the AG 60plus can also be seen in positive cooperation talks with clubs and organizations, such as "We are haan".

focus on senior interests

In his explanations,

Klaus Thörmer emphasized the important task of finding answers to the questions of the seniors. In particular, topics such as dignity, generation connection, democratic values, digital participation and living space situation are the focus. Thörmer invites everyone interested to take part in discussions and actively take responsibility for the political priorities in Haan. This was also reflected in the foundation of Haaner AG 60plus, which was launched on May 8, 2023 and reacts to current challenges with topics such as increasing the pension level and the combating of old age poverty, which are still tightened by increased rents in Haan.

The AG also plans regular discussion rounds at senior -friendly times and technical discussions with important political representatives, such as the State Secretary for Social Affairs, which took place after the first board election in May. These actions are an important part of the political participation of older citizens, a topic that also gains enormous importance at national level. According to the Federal Working Group on Senior Corporation (Bagso), it is essential to take into account the concerns and needs of senior citizens in political decisions and to strengthen their participation by 2030.

outlook and commitment

The AG 60plus also plans excursions to illuminate social challenges and develop solutions. The importance of a broad social debate about living conditions and participation for older people is often emphasized. The BAGSO supports these efforts and cooperates closely with the Federal Ministry of Department to promote projects that ensure good life in old age.

Overall, the reorganization of the AG 60plus of the Haaner SPD shows a clear direction. With a dedicated board, which responds to the needs of the older generation and relies on political participation, the AG is well positioned to actively shape important topics for seniors in Haan.
