Timetable change: Rheinbahn brings new lines for better travel!

On January 6, 2025, it became known that on January 7, 2025 the timetable change at the Rheinbahn will come into force. This change brings significant changes for the bus and tram lines in the entire operating area.

In particular, the bus line O19 in Lintorf-Mitte will travel a new route that leads from Tiefenbroicher Straße via Lintorfer Markt and Speestrasse. In addition, the departure times of bus lines 749 and DL6 in Mettmann are adapted during the weekend nights to facilitate switching to the S28. The Rheinbahn has also announced that the downhill times overall optimized to ensure more punctual connections and better connections.

changes in the tram lines

Also on January 7, 2024, the new "Rhine Acht" will become effective, which introduces a uniform clock scheme. From Monday to Friday, the trams run between 5 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. every 10 or 20 minutes, on Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Further changes include additional trips to the U70 from the "Handelszentrum/Moscower Straße" as well as adjustments to other lines such as the U71, U72 and U76, which offer a wide variety of new routes and clocks.

The U74 is stopped and their trips are taken over by the U76. Another important point is the introduction of lines 701, which creates an improved connection in relevant areas, as well as changes to the night turns of various lines.

In addition, a new swimming school, "swimming heroes", was launched in Wülfrath, which offers courses for children and adults from January 19. These initiatives are a reaction to the high need for swimming courses, especially in view of the fact that drowning is the most common cause of death in children under five years.

In addition, there were technical disorders on Friday at German airports, including Düsseldorf, which, according to the Federal Criminal Police Office, showed no signs of a hacker attack or an IT security incident. The information systems and entry controls were largely available again after the fault on Friday evening. Finally, the analog TV and radio signal in Monheim will be parked on January 7, 2025. Most residents have already switched to digital signal, while older devices that were produced before 2010 may no longer be used.
