New in the all -weather zoo: Four enchanting white -shaped nasal bears!

In the all -weather zoo Münster, four Belarine nose bears have found their way since April 16, 2025. The four females, which are almost one year old, originally come from the Hanover Zoo. This presentation of the animals took place after their acclimatization "behind the scenes", in a newly designed facility that was previously used for Bennett kangaroos. The redesign of the system should offer the new residents a species -appropriate and safe home.

BILE ROODS BARES belong to the family of small bears and are primarily widespread in Central and South America. This species is known for its skill in climbing and has a varied diet that mainly consists of insects, fruits, eggs and small vertebrates. Originally, they were also used in agriculture for pest control and partly kept as pets. Unfortunately, the existence of these animals is declining, which is mainly caused by the loss of their natural habitats and targeted hunting. At the moment, however, the species is not officially classified as endangered, but this is not important for your long -term future.

junior planning for the future

The people responsible for the zoo plan to expand the inventory by adding two males in order to create the prerequisites for future young people. Female white -shaped nasal bears reach sexual maturity between the ages of two and three. They give birth in nature once a year, with the tag period between 74 and 77 days. This means that the mothers usually give birth to their offspring between October and November and build nests in the trees.

Born once, the boys stay in the nest for a few weeks and are subject to numerous dangers from natural enemies during this time. The females only return to the group with their young animals after five to six weeks. The groups can exist between five and 150 female animals and their descendants. The males, on the other hand, leave their group around the age of two and then usually live alone in their habitat.

The importance of species protection

The decline in many animal species has extensive ecological, economic and social implications, whereby the causes lie in human activities. The destruction and fragmentation of natural habitats, especially through design and urbanization, are essential factors for the disappearance of many species. These facts illustrate the need for protective measures that include the establishment of protected areas as well as combating illegal poaching and international trade in endangered species.

protection programs and environmental education are crucial to raise public awareness of the preservation of biological diversity and to offer long -term solutions to threats from climate change and invasive species. Especially with species such as the Belarine broken bears, it is important to observe the development of their population and to take suitable measures to protect and maintain their habitats in order to contain the risk of a further fall of existence.

Finally, it can be said that the integration of the white -shaped sterns into the all -weather zoo Münster will not only make a valuable contribution to visitor education, but will also be seen as part of a larger species protection program. The biodiversity of our earth can only be preserved through joint efforts.
