Xantener Stadioncross delights with bright weather and great performance
On February 16, 2025, the sixth Xantener Stadioncross took place, which was carried out under optimal conditions. Bright sunshine, solid ground and around 400 participants ensured a successful event. In six races for different age groups, the athletes demonstrated their skills and endurance.
The event included the children's fun-run (640 meters) and the U10 school run (770 meters). The slope in these runs in particular was a major challenge for the young participants. The focus on the fun run was on the movement and the fun of sport. Joshua Bothen from SV Sonsbeck won this run and - like all other participants - received a medal in recognition of his performance.

The U10 run was won by Tufan Kara (8) by DJK Novesia Neuss, who was able to prevail in an exciting final sprint. Rolands Seerau from TuS Xanten emphasized the sand pit and the short climb as the most demanding sections of the route.

The appearance of Hannes Piffko was particularly remarkable. The athlete, who had previously specialized in marathon, completed his first cross -country run and convinced with a clear lead over the 3800 meters. Luca Fröhling defended his title in the long distance and asserted himself with a 29 second lead. Anna-Lina Dahlbeck, the fastest woman over the middle distance, underlined the strong performance of the participants. Annika van Hüüt led the field of women over 7.5 kilometers.

The feedback from participants and organizers was consistently positive. The successful implementation and the great weather contributed to an overall pleasant atmosphere. Some of the races served as races for the LVN Cross Cup, which gave the competition additional incentive.
In recent years, the Xanten Stadioncross has developed into an important event in the running calendar. The interest rose in advance, such as auchatletik.tus-xanten.de reported, and the transmission of past events also provided a high contingent to participants.
With a view to the future, the organizer plans to continue to make the Stadioncross attractive. In view of the multitude of positive feedback, the chances of further successful events seem to be very good.
