Mass Active in old age: Tips and tricks for a self -determined life!
On Saturday, March 29, 2025, the Saarpfalz district organizes the trade fair "Active in old age". This takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parliamentary wing of the Homburg district administration. The fair is aimed at senior citizens and people with impairments and offers a platform for information and exchange.
The focus of the fair is on advice centers, networks-including the hospice network-and commercial providers. The Saarland gymnastics association has integrated an everyday fitness test into its program under the motto "Fit and Vital". In addition, an interactive memory training by Susanne Fehrenz from the nursing base is offered.
diverse offers and lectures
Another highlight of the fair are the security consultants who inform about topics such as trick theft, trick fraud and internet security. Visitors can also look forward to an aid exhibition that presents products for support in everyday life. The official opening takes place at 10 a.m. by the district deputy Esra Limbacher.
The fair also offers informative lectures that take place during the day. These include:
- 11 a.m.: Christina Klinkenberg about "seniors in motion".
- 1:30 p.m.: Michael Schnepp on interactions between medicinal products and food.
- 3 p.m.: Tobias Mierzwiak about the project "Saar 66 - at the interface of volunteering and structural development".
Participation is free of charge and the event is accessible. Meals and enough parking facilities around the Homburg forum are also available. For more information, interested parties can contact the Saarpfalz district's senior citizens' office at the e-mail address seniorenbuero@saarpfalz-kreis.de or by phone at 0684-7258.
quality of life in old age
like Messen.de notes, trade fairs are on the quality of life at the age of growing interest. The platform offers a comprehensive database that lists senior trade fairs for 2025 and 2026. Especially events that deal with topics related to health, mobility, care and support for the elderly get a lot of attention.
An example of such an event is the senior fair in Bergneustadt. With 34 exhibitors, this reacted to the need for support and orientation for older people. Topics such as health promotion, mobility aids and leisure activities proved to be particularly relevant. Such trade fairs are now widespread and represent a valuable resource for many seniors.
Overall, the commitment of the Saarpfalz district shows that the promotion of quality of life in old age is not only a social responsibility, but also an opportunity to actively involve senior citizens in social life. The "Active in old age" trade fair embodies this approach through a wide range and diverse information options.
