Timetable changes at the start of the year: public transport improved in the Oberberg district!
The Oberbergische Verkehrsgesellschaft (OVAG) recently announced changes in the timetable of several bus lines that come into force after the end of the NRW Christmas holidays on Tuesday, January 7th. The affected lines are 301, 302, 304, 334, 344, 345 and 361. The timetable changes mainly affect the minute range to enable passengers to use public transport.

- Line 301: First trips from Monday to Friday towards Gummersbach, eight minutes earlier.
- line 302: On school days the connection is extended at 3:15 p.m. from Gummersbach to Nümbrecht.
- line 302: trips at 12.34 p.m. and 1:04 p.m. from Waldbröl 15 minutes earlier.
- line 304: Additional trip at 1:27 p.m. from Wiehl to Gummersbach on school days.
- line 304: The journey at 1:57 p.m. from Wiehl to Gummersbach drives 15 minutes later.
- Line 344: Drive Monday to Friday on school days starts at 6.45 a.m. to Waldbröl, five minutes earlier.
- line 344: additional stop at the Waldbröler school center.
- line 361: Saturdays adjustments in the morning and from 11 a.m. drive every 15 minutes.
The OVAG, together with the Bergisches Land (VBL) transport company, operates around 200 own and rented buses over 50 bus lines in the Oberberg district, with numerous students use the regular buses for their way to school.
In addition to the new changes, OVAG also announced a timetable change on December 11, 2022, which brought an improvement in public transport in the municipalities of Engelskirchen and Lindlar as well as in Marienheide, Wipperfürth and Gummersbach. These comprehensive changes should increase the attractiveness of local transport and make the region sustainable.
The adjustments also include a continuous connection of all affected towns in regular clocks, with at least hourly operation of many towns. In addition, central transfer points are planned in the cities and municipalities bus stations.
The measures include new stops and the introduction of additional lines, such as the new line 334 from Engelskirchen via Lindlar to Wipperfürth. The student transport is retained and is integrated into the respective lines, while leisure facilities such as the open -air museum in Lindlar also benefit from the improvements.For the implementation of these changes, OVAG has planned over 5 % more services compared to the current offer and has set additional buses and drivers to cover the new requirements.
