New healthcare center established! SPD strengthens supply in Oberberg
In the Oberberg district, the “Working Group on Social Democrats and Social Democrats in Health Care” (ASG) was founded today. This important event took place in Ründeroth, where 24 SPD members came together to discuss the challenges and opportunities in healthcare. Thorsten Konzelmann, the district chair, and his deputy and candidate for the Bundestag Pascal Reinhardt.
Waldemar Radtke, the state chairman of the ASG-NRW, reported on current developments in the healthcare system and emphasized the importance of the ASG considering the weaknesses of the public health sector opened by the corona pandemic. In a subsequent question and discussion round, important topics such as outpatient and inpatient care as well as the shortage of skilled workers in the health sector were treated.
goals of the new working group
The ASG has set itself the goal of bundle the expertise of its members and actively working on the improvement of health care in the Oberberg district. Wolfgang Brelöhr from Engelskirchen was unanimously elected chairman, while Katja Hoffmann from Morsbach were elected deputy and Rudi Nurk from Wipperfürth.
The district chairman Thorsten Konzelmann praised the foundation as a result of a long process and thanked Brelöhr for his long -term leadership of the previous working group. He explained that the ASG is planning both public events and internal party events in order to further promote the discussion about health and social policy developments.
topics of discussion
A central concern of the ASG is to improve personnel equipment in the healthcare system. The relevance of this topic is underpinned by current statistics that indicate the shortage of skilled workers in German healthcare. A survey shows that 68 percent of the unemployed, unemployed and graduates of the past three years consider an appropriate salary as a main incentive to stay in care. But even better working hours (49 percent) and improved personnel equipment (47 percent) are considered crucial to increase the attractiveness of the nursing profession.
Wolfgang Brelöhr emphasized the need to work together on the improvement of the legal framework in order to effectively counter the challenges in the health sector. The first general meeting of the ASG will take place in March to adopt a statute and choose other assessors and delegates.
The foundation of the ASG thus represents an important step towards a nationwide strengthened social democratic voice in the healthcare system. It closes a gap on the political map and can help to improve the supply situation in the region. <
