Sparkasses strengthen referee training in the Oberberg handball circuit!
The Sparkasse Gummersbach and the Kreissparkasse Cologne are actively committed to promoting handball sports in the Oberberg district. On the occasion of the district cup final day in the Eugen-Haas-Halle, the two banks each presented a donation check for 2,000 euros. These funds are intended for the training of young referees who play a crucial role in handball. Dirk Steinbach, board member of Sparkasse Gummersbach, and Manuel Peters, regional director of the Kreissparkasse Cologne, emphasized the importance of this investment in order to train and support future referees.
Udo Kolpe, Oberberg's handball manager, emphasized that the Oberberg handball district has been working actively on the recruitment of arbitrators for years. "We have to make sure that the referee training is continuously promoted," he said. In the last three training courses, a total of 58 new referees were won. In addition, the young referees are accompanied by regular referee coaches in their first missions in the youth leagues who give valuable feedback and tips.
important for the future of handball
The training of new referees is of great importance not only for the clubs, but also for the development of handball. Thanks to the support of the savings banks, there are many costs for the clubs, which makes it easier to extract new referees. Currently even three teams from Oberberg whistle in the handball Bundesliga, which underlines the high quality of the training.
In order to professionalize the referee training, the German Handball Association (DHB) uses a structured concept for further training. The dhb-Schiedersrichterportal provides current and practice-oriented information on regulations and tactics. This includes a blended learning approach that combines e-learning with face-to-face events. A new access to learning modules is only carried out if the previous module has been successfully completed, which ensures the effectiveness of the training.
The set of rules, which is in circulation, is based on the ring folder "The handball referee". This comprehensive training ensures that the referees are well prepared for their tasks and that the complex rules of the game can apply correctly. The teaching content is regularly updated and offer referees the opportunity to deepen theoretical and practical knowledge in various subject areas.
The basis for sustainable and qualified referee training is laid by these comprehensive measures, which is crucial for handball in the region.
