High school Lindlar: Students collect 8,600 euros for schools in India!
Today, on March 29, 2025, a remarkable sum of 8,600 euros was handed over for India aid. Headmaster Christoph Menn-Hilger from the Lindlar grammar school presented the amount to Rani and Martin Kramm, who have been committed to social projects in India for many years. With 4,300 euros, the students of the school contributed to this success through a Christmas collection, which were supported by creative promotions such as waffle sales and donations in the circle of friends and family.
The second half of the sum collected comes from an anonymous donor from the municipality of Lindlar. This donor, who is retiring, has always doubled his contribution over the past five years, which underlines the importance of his support. A successor for this generous benefactor is urgently sought to continue to enable the valuable work.
Support for schools in India
The money collected is specifically used for social projects in India. The Kramm couple are currently supporting two slum schools: the "Andheri Slum School Project" in Mumbai and the "Ambapani School-Project" in Odisha. Recent improvements in these schools include renewal sanitary facilities that are of crucial importance for the hygiene and health of the students.
In order to give the students of the Lindlar high school a direct insight into the effects of their help, a film was presented a few weeks ago that was made in schools on site. Rani and Martin Kramm travel to India every two to three years to personally accompany the projects. During your next trip in autumn you will be supported by teachers of the high school, which further strengthens the connection between students and the projects in India.
long -term partnership
The cooperation between the Lindlar high school and India aid has existed for eight years. This partnership shows the commitment and solidarity that pupils and school management apply to improve living conditions in India. India aid, represented by Kaplan Thumma e.V., has been committed to combating poverty and social injustice in the patient, Guntur, India, for over ten years. Your projects focus on education to offer families and children perspectives for life without poverty.
In recent years, the organization has built close relationships with Indian partners who work in education or priests to specifically support people who urgently need help. The successful course of the Christmas collection at the Lindlar grammar school is another example of how locally collected means can make a big difference in the fight against poverty and for better education in India.Details | |
