Spring cleaning in Oberhausen: Take part for a clean home!

The city of Oberhausen calls its residents to a large spring cleaning. From March 22 to 29, 2025, citizens have the opportunity to actively contribute to cleanliness and quality of life in their area. This initiative is organized by the city administration in cooperation with WBO GmbH and aims to remove garbage in parks, playgrounds, streets and squares. Registration for participation is possible both individually and in groups, ideal for friends, families or neighborhoods.

With the support of sponsors such as the Aquapark, Stoag, Topgolf, Gasometer and Westfield Centro, comprehensive equipment is provided for all participants. These include warning vests, gloves, gripping tongs and garbage bags made available by the WBO. The waste collected will be picked up by the WBO after completing the actions.

community and sustainability

The planned garbage collection campaigns not only offer practical use, but also the opportunity to promote city history and environmental awareness. Guided city tours during the collection campaigns provide interesting insights and underline the importance of sustainability. This is how one of the tours begins on Saturday, March 22nd, at 2:00 p.m. on the railway line and the stop in the old center. This will end around 3:30 p.m. Further tours are planned in Sterkrade on March 28th and on March 29 at the colliery and coking plant, also at similar times.

If you want to register for spring cleaning special, you can do this by email to cleanes-oberhausen@oberhausen.de and specify the contact details as well as the desired date. It is important to note that a maximum of four people can participate per registration. In addition, prices with Oberhausen reference are raffled under the helping hands, which further increases motivation to participate.

Overall, the campaign not only aims at a cleaner city, but also promotes the sense of community among the inhabitants and sensitizes the responsibility that each individual bears for the environment. This initiative is in line with the global goals for sustainable development, which are also promoted in other local projects, such as the actions for sensitization and environmental protection, which are via the portal Tatenfuermorgen communicated.

Registration for this important initiative has been possible since the end of January, and interested participants can contact the city administration at any time by phone at 0208 825-3594. Spring cleaning is not just an action, but a step towards a more sustainable and livable city for everyone.
