Help for Ukraine: Donation Collection in Oberhausen!
An important step to support people in need is imminent: The "convoy of hope" organizes a donation collection in Oberhausen on Saturday, March 15th. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., interested citizens can hand in their donations at Weiherweg 22, at the bus stop. The initiative is committed to help for people in need in Ukraine, Moldova and other Eastern European countries. The organizers call on to provide well -preserved donations in kind that are distributed directly to the needy.
A central concern of the campaign is also the environmental protection, which is promoted by the reuse of assets. Baby equipment, children's bicycles, clothing and school materials for children are required, among other things. Numerous donations are also desired for adults, such as bicycles, wheelchairs and work clothes. A detailed wish list is provided that the donors should pay attention to.
wide spectrum of required donations
In addition to donations in kind, the organization also calls for donations. These are crucial to acquire food for refugees on site and finance transports, as the DHHN website explains. The donations collected should meet the needs of people on site. In this way, durable foods - especially canned goods, hygiene items, warm clothing, bed linen and even generators - are urgently needed. The aim is to achieve the hotspots of need, especially in Ukraine, where the help is urgently required.
The donations in kind should be packed and labeled in stable boxes or plastic bags. Food packages in banana boxes are particularly helpful. With larger amounts of donations, it is advisable to contact in advance. The aid organization plans to send transport with several trucks to Ukraine every two weeks. Part of the goods go to refugees, while the larger part is distributed in the east and in Kiev.
additional resources for donors
The website Sachspend-ucraine.de offers a platform on which users can specifically indicate which donations they want to submit. This makes it easier for official aid organizations to search specifically for the needed things and to organize donations directly in the necessary locations.
The upcoming collection of the "convoy of hope" is an excellent opportunity to help specifically and to work for the people in Ukraine and the surrounding area. For more information, the phone number (07255) 74 63 101 is available.
