Karl's adventure village: Oberhausen becomes the strawberry capital!
The amusement park "Karl's adventure village" is expected to open its doors in Oberhausen in spring 2026. Operator Robert Dahl announced this day, April 19, 2025. The park, which is built from old building materials, is being built on the site of the former Centro Park, in the immediate vicinity of the popular Centro shopping center. Preparations for the opening are already underway, even if the concrete construction work has not yet started. About half of the former Centro Park site is used for the new amusement park.
The park is aimed particularly at families with children and will offer numerous attractions. The attractions already confirmed include exciting rides such as a large “corn bath” system, a traditional tractor railway and the “Strawberry Rush Railway”. Other highlights are carpet slides and a flying coffee table. Thematically, the park will be strongly shaped by the strawberry, which is also expressed in the planned gastronomic offers such as the strawberry kebab, whose use in Oberhausen is still unclear. Special features in the main building will include jam cooking and bake baking as well as a large indoor playground.
construction projects and attractions
In the background, the first construction sites are already being worked on. The first steps are to clear and core old existing buildings, including a former brewery and the tractor station. These steps are part of the extensive renovation, which is intended to give the new adventure village a fresh and inviting atmosphere.
The planned attractions are diverse and, in addition to the already mentioned, also include various farm shops, manufacturers and shops that should complement the concept of the adventure village and offer visitors an authentic experience. Even a hotel could be created in a certain part of the area, which was previously damaged by a fire. However, specific planning for this is not yet known.
extension and future planning
Robert Dahl, the founder of the Karl's adventure villages, not only plans the expansion in Oberhausen. At the same time, a similar park will be set up in the Loxstedt near Bremerhaven, which is to be opened on May 25, 2025. In addition, an expansion of the adventure park in Elstal around a water park is planned. This is shown by the ambitious growth goal of Dahl within the amusement park industry.
With the opening of "Karls Erlebnisdorf",in Oberhausen creates another attraction for families. The region already has numerous leisure facilities, including the Sea Life, the Legoland Discovery Center and the Adventure World, all of which invite you to experience unforgettable days. With these plans, the new park positions itself as a family -friendly contact point in an already attractive range of leisure activities in the city.
