Stroblwirt celebrates as a musician -friendly tavern in Oberhausen!

The inn "Strobl" in Oberhausen was recently awarded the title "Musician -friendly tavern". The certificate and the associated badge were presented by Finance and Home Minister Albert Füracker. This recognizes the tradition of the inn, which has been family -owned by the Strobls since the beginning of the 20th century. The current generation leads the inn in fourth order and has been offering space for brass bands and small artists since 1997.

1992 the inn was opened in its current form after a partial termination of the former farm. The "Stroblbühne" is planning a big celebration on the occasion of its 25th anniversary for 2025. In addition, the 2026 inn will be 125 years old. A festival week with several evening events is planned for this anniversary.

Various event offer

Last year 84 events took place, which fully exploited the capacity of the family business. The event offer is broad and ranges from Big Band to hit to rock music and cabaret. External events that have no gastronomic accompaniment are rejected. The audience not only comes from the surrounding area, but also from cities like Munich and Passau.

In order to bring cabaret closer, subscriptions for six events are to be introduced in the future. The upcoming events in the "Strobl" include:

  • "Conny and the Sunday drivers" on January 16 and 17
  • "root water" on January 24th
  • "Bananafishbones" on February 22nd and March 16th
  • cabaret with Christine Eixenberger on March 15th and Stefan Kröll on May 8th
  • brass music with Wüdara music on January 26, Innsbrucker-Bohemian on March 23 and Kaiser musician on June 20th.

musicians friendliness and Bavarian tavern culture

The title of the "Musician -friendly tavern" stands for a lively and spontaneous music tradition. Josef Menzl from the "Zur Walba" inn encourages this idea that in such inns it is not the focus of perfection, but the musical spontaneity is in the foreground. This is particularly important because the free singing and making music has been lost in many guest rooms.

dr. Rudolf Neumaier, Managing Director of the Bavarian State Association for Homeland Care, emphasizes the need for free musical development and activity. The importance of such venues that preserve the Bavarian inn culture is undeniable because they are lively testimonies of a tradition that has grown over centuries.

Historical inns in Bavaria, which are known for their hospitality and lively culture, not only have a long history, but are also an important part of the Bavarian heritage. A manual on historical inns in Upper Bavaria at the Munich Volk-Verlag offers comprehensive information, supported by historical data and anecdotes from the tavern culture.

The combination of tradition, cultural commitment and a connection to the region remains a central point for art and music in the Oberland and beyond.
