Attendorner start through: City bikes promotes climate protection!

The Hanseatic city of Attendorn is preparing for an exciting action: from May 5th to 25th, 2025 the "city cycling" takes place. This initiative aims to motivate the population to switch to the bike and thus make a contribution to climate protection. In addition to Attendorn, other cities and municipalities also take part in the project in the district of Olpe. Participation is open to everyone who belongs in Attendorn, work, belong to an association or attend a school, Lokalplus Fest.

During the three -week campaign period, all kilometers covered with the bike are counted and entered online. Every route counts and the participants have the opportunity to join existing teams or to found new teams. Registrations are possible via the website www.stadtradeln.de/attendorn. The “Radhaus” team of the city administration Attendorn, led by Mayor Christian Pospischil, will also take part in the competition.

funding and prices

An attractive motivational argument is the raffle of 20 Hansecheck worth 25 euros each, which are raffled off among the participants who are cycling at least 100 kilometers. “City cycles” are also supported by the Sparkassen and Volksbanken in the Olpe district with a total donation of 8,000 euros. This financial support is intended to help shape the action successfully and to strengthen the local community.

Another highlight is the award of the best team of every municipality. These are rewarded with a donation of 1,000 euros for a non -profit organization in the respective municipality, based on the highest number of kilometers driven per capita. This element not only promotes the competition, but also offers a way to support local associations and initiatives, such as Attendorn reports.

The action aims to raise awareness of environmentally friendly transport and to promote exchange within the community. By sharing their experiences and motivation when cycling, the number of cyclists in Attendorn will hopefully increase significantly. With the support of the city and the financial incentives by local banks, the success of “city cycling” in Attendorn is certainly promoted.
