Schützenverein presents 2,150 euros for Lennestadt!

coat of arms of the Olpe district shooting association visited the shopping cart team in Lennestadt and handed over a donation of 2,150 euros. This donation is an expression of the high donation of the coat of arms, which has an important importance at the annual meetings in the district of Olpe. In recent years, a total of 45,000 euros have been collected for social and non -profit purposes. The current donation was collected at the annual meeting at the Dörnschlade. As part of the program, Father Norbert held a prayer and informed those present about the listed church building.

The shopping cart Lennestadt was selected as a donation recipient. Around 50 volunteers are devoted to residents from Lennestadt and Kirchhundem once a month. The food for the shopping cart comes from voluntary donations from shops that are bought together with donations. The Schützenverein Altenhundem provides the Sauerlandhalle for the output of the goods.

role of the local community

The Sauerlandhalle is used by the Schützenverein Altenhundem 1861 e.V., while the city of Lennestadt takes over the cost of using the hall. In addition, a small area is available in the basement of the elementary school in Altenhundem. In order to master the organizational challenges, the Catholic parish of St. Agatha Altenhundem takes over large parts of the office and disposal costs.

The main goal of the initiative is the collection of food as well as washing and cleaning articles made available free of charge by regional bakeries, butchers and shops. Otherwise, these articles would be brought to the recovery or annihilation. Due to the limited money, since many bodies ask for support, private individuals rely on fundraising campaign days in shopping markets and donation baskets in various churches to support the initiative.

Welschen-Nenst, Rahrbach, Benolpe, Kirchveischede, Bilstein, Grevenbrück, Elspe, Oberelspe, Oedingen, Halberbracht and Meggen include

fundraisers. The Meggen clothing chamber, Wiewowatt Altenhundem and Edeka-Schütte in Saalhausen also take part in the collection campaign. On the so-called shopping basket day, durable foods as well as cleaning and personal care items are accepted in the morning. A prior agreement is required to pick up material donations. An essential part of the offer comes from donations in money that are used for the purchase of food. At the end of the year, donors receive an official grant certificate at the end of the year. In addition, banks often grant special conditions and support the initiative with further donations. The bank details of the shopping cart is: Volksbank Sauerland e.G., Iban: DE15 4606 2817 0060 1050 02.
