Free RiScha rides in Olpe: Secure mobility for everyone!

From April 2025, the DRK multi-generation house Olpe offers free rickscha trips that are aimed particularly at people with mobility restrictions. This initiative is intended to help promote participation in social life and to make mobility possible for those that you urgently need. The DRK multi-generation house Olpe, which emerged from the “House of Encounter” in 2008, has established itself as an important center for the citizen of Olpe. It is located on Löherweg 9 and offers space for encounters, contacts and various activities for young and old. The offer is aimed at both locals and on added and takes into account people with and without disabilities. A central point of the house is the open meeting/café, where guests can talk about coffee and cake and can find out more about the various offers. The sponsorship is the responsibility of the DRK-Kreisverband Olpe e.V.

RiScha rides in detail

The RiScha rides offer a special opportunity for excursions in the fresh air. They are not only suitable for people who are no longer good on foot, but also for all those who enjoy experiences outside. The trips are carried out by volunteer drivers who are traveling on wishes in various locations in the city of Olpe. The RiScha itself is electronically supported, which enables comfortable and safe driving. The tours usually last one to two hours, depending on the individual agreement. In most cases, these journeys are planned for up to two passengers at the same time. Further information on registration and the driving dates is available on 0170/2279964. Interested parties who want to support the project can also report on this number.

The RiScha trips are also offered during local festivals and celebrations in Olpe to offer the festival visitors an additional way to enjoy the events. Pressing social interaction and creating new encounters are the focus of this initiative, which is intended to increase the quality of life of passengers and give the volunteer drivers the chance to actively contribute to the community. The fun and joy of driving are rounded off by the opportunity to explore the surroundings.
