The Seemann chapel Hillmicke sets the start of its anniversary year with a New Year's concert. On January 11, 2025 at 7:30 p.m., the concert will take place in the auditorium of the Wenden comprehensive school. The founding of the sailor's chapel goes back to October 1950 when five young men started the orchestra. The concert program promises a varied experience. Classic works such as "Pomp and Circumstance No. 4" by Edward Elgar are planned and the overture for the operetta "The Bat". A special highlight is the Xylophone solo "Memories of Circus Renz", which is presented by the soloists Peter Stracke and Max Stracke. In the second part of the concert, modern compositions are in the foreground, including pieces such as "Euphoria", "Gibraltar", "Kung Fu Panda" and "Coldplay in Symphony". As part of the celebrations for the 75th anniversary, a district music festival is also planned in Hillmicke from September 12 to 14, 2025. To prepare for the anniversary, the first events were announced at the annual general meeting. The innovations include the new version of the statutes from 1996, which, among other things, cancel the age restriction for active members. Younger members can become active if their parents sign it. Furthermore, a new regulation for honorary memberships was presented, which provides for an active membership of 50 years or 45 years after the age of 65. For young people up to 18 years and honorary members, the membership fee is no longer necessary.

The future activities of the music association include three rifle festivals, morning pint, two music festivals in Hünsborn and but as well as the Wendener Kirmes. The joint samples for children and adolescents should further strengthen the cohesion of the members.
