Near the University of Paderborn was made alarming: On Wednesday morning, April 23, a witness discovered two prepared pieces of meat in a green area on the Broder-Carstensen-Weg. These were obviously determined as a needle bait and were reported around 8.30 a.m. The baits were housed in a concrete bucket opposite the University of Building P3, wrapped up with a dark tile and peppered with small needles. The incident is a serious danger to pets.

In the past two weeks there have been a total of nine reports about similar bait in the area. The police have now started investigations and urgently searches for information from the population. People who have made suspicious observations are asked to report on 05251/306-0 to prevent possible additional dangerous incidents.

In view of the repeated incidents, the police called the pet owners in the area to increase vigilance. It is advised to be particularly attentive and to report conspicuous objects or behaviors immediately. In the spring of 2024 there were already similar incidents with conifers in the area of ​​the University of Paderborn.
