Singbach: 200 children sing for community and feelings of happiness!

The “Singbach” project is very popular in Hesse. It brings 200 children from seven primary schools in Wiesbaden and the Rheingau-Taunus district together to create an intensive and community choir experience. According to kultus.hessen.de together strengthens the social competence and the sense of community of young people. The pupils learn a total of ten songs, including choral and reworked arias by Johann Sebastian Bach. This concept was developed by the church musician and vocal teacher Friedhilde Trüün and aims to give children an age -appropriate access to classical music.

The support of the project by the Hessian Ministry of Culture, Education and Opportunities that the Peter Rosegger School provides 3,000 euros for stage outfits is particularly impressive. Minister of Education Armin Schwarz emphasizes how important such projects are for the personal development of the children. Hessian Prime Minister Boris Rhein has also taken over the patronage for "Singbach" and emphasizes the importance of cultural education.

The heart of the project

The children associated in this project not only learn musical skills, but also develop essential social skills. Making music promotes teamwork, communication strength and self -confidence. This is underpinned by literature, which at Promotion of social skills through music education shows that social intelligence has to be learned and that making music can help.

A planned final concert next year will offer an excellent opportunity to present what they have learned to the public. The school teachers and organizers put great hopes in the ability of the children to demonstrate their skills.
