Visar Musliu leaves Paderborn: Change to St. Truiden Fix!

Visar Musliu left the SC Paderborn and switches to VV St. Truids to the Belgian Jupils Pro League with immediate effect. This was confirmed by the association on February 4, 2025. The 30-year-old central defender made this decision after he was only used sporadically in the current season. With only seven missions, of which he only played in two games over the full distance, his playing time was severely restricted due to a bone splintering in the midfoot, which had prevailed since October 2024 to the end of the year.

His last effort for Paderborn was against SpVgg Greuther Fürth on the last match day, in which he made a decisive mistake on the square and gave the guests the lead. Muslius Change to St. Truiden takes place free of charge because his contract was dissolved at SC Paderborn. The Belgian team is currently playing in the lower table region and occupies the third last place, which is why it urgently is looking for defensive reinforcements.

career path and experience

The sports director of St. Truiden, André Pinto, emphasizes Muslius extensive experience and his leadership qualities. Musliu is not only an experienced player in the second division, but also played 64 caps for Northern Macedonia, including three missions at the EM 2021. Before his time in Paderborn, Musliu began his career in Switzerland at FC St. Gallen in the U21 and then successfully played in Hungary at Vidi FC.

his first change to the German league took place in January 2022 when he came to FC Ingolstadt. Here he played in the 2nd Bundesliga 14 and in the 3rd division 25 games. In the summer of 2023 Musliu returned to Paderborn, where he played 26 games in the previous season and at times led the team as captain, but also had to deal with the challenges of a break in the middle.

st. Truids and Muslius roll

With his change, Musliu reinforces a team that is looking for stability on the defensive. André Pinto underlines that Musliu brings with him the characteristics of an experienced player. Muslius football, paired with his experience at national and international level, could be crucial for St. Truiden to successfully fight the relegation battle.

In the winter preparation, Musliu took part in all three test games and showed that he is ready to prove himself in his new environment. This realignment could not only enliven its own game, but also support the Belgian association to solve its defensive problems and to come from the relegation zone.
