In May 2025 there will be several Dutch markets in North Rhine-Westphalia, which offer a wide range of Dutch specialties and goods. These popular events have developed into an integral part of regional culture over the years. The markets take place in different cities, including in Bergkamen, Lengerich and Castrop-Rauxel.

The appointments are as follows:

  • 11. May: Bergkamen
  • 18. May: Lengerich
  • 25. May: Castrop-Rauxel

opening times are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The market days are often accompanied by brass music bands that create a festive atmosphere with their Dutch sounds.

The origins of the Dutch markets go back to 1990 when the first market in Hengelo, the Netherlands, was launched. This step was a sign of the city partnership with Emsdetten. Today the Hollandmarkt in Emsdetten is the largest of its kind in Germany.
