Shock in Recklinghausen: Bus captures 7-year-old boy on street!

On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, a serious accident occurred in Recklinghausen on Bochumer Straße at around 4 p.m. when a regular bus caught a seven -year -old boy. The boy who was traveling with a scooter wanted to cross the street, but overlooked the approaching bus. The driver of the bus initiated an emergency braking, but could not prevent a collision. The boy suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital with the suspicion of a concussion. Fortunately, there is no danger to him. This reports radiovest.de .

In contrast to the often serious consequences of such accidents reported in the past, the injuries to passengers on the bus were comparatively low. Due to the emergency braking, two children and four adults plunged and did not suffer any serious injuries. However, an adult was taken to the hospital with a shoulder fracture. The driver of the bus was also taken care of because he had suffered a shock.

traffic disruptions and security issues

Bochumer Straße had to be closed for a long time during the after -school after work, which led to considerable traffic disruptions. Such accidents always raise the question of safety in road traffic, especially with regard to children and their visibility in the street. A similar incident had already taken place in January when a woman was hit by a bus. These incidents illustrate the risks that pedestrians and cyclists have to enter into in road traffic.

The police have started the investigation into the accident and asks witnesses to report. It is to be hoped that such events can be avoided in the future through targeted prevention measures. Information on traffic accidents and their statistics are available on Destatis.de
