Schooling year 2025: Remscheid fights with overcrowding and dismissions!
In Remscheid there is an important transition for 1,060 children. These children switch from kindergartens to primary schools in summer and thus start a new phase of life. Registration for the new first graders has already been completed, and the parents now receive the commitments for the schools of their choice. There are a total of 17 primary schools in the city and four branches that are prepared for the new students. Nevertheless, there are also challenges: the primary schools Hasten, Walther-Hartmann and Freiherr-vom-Stein have to reject children.
affected parents are asked to register alternative schools where places are still available. The GGS at the city park in particular had to form a multi -class for the coming school year 25/26 to create enough space for the first graders. In addition, the GGS Adolf-Clarenbach can accommodate other children, including those from Wuppertal.
open registrations and challenges
The headmaster is concerned about the full utilization of the schools. The challenges when repeating classes are increasing. In three -way schools, a legal maximum limit of 27 children per class in the first class applies, which can then rise to up to 34 children. There are legal restrictions that do not take the resignation of students into account.
national developments
Nationwide, this increase was recorded in almost all federal states. The greatest increase in schooling was in Baden-Württemberg (+6.9%) and in Saarland (+6.0%). The data show that 93.5% of children at primary schools, 3.1% at special schools, 2.5% at integrated comprehensive schools and 0.9% at free Waldorf schools were enrolled.
