Remscheid loses district hall championship: What does that mean for the region?

In Remscheid, the football landscape is shaped by the district hall championship. There are currently various tournaments in the city, but no official championship for men's teams. This was found in a recent report by rga.de . Aylin Caliskan, the chairwoman of the district football committee, names the difficulties in organization and insufficient indoor capacities in Remscheid as reasons for this decision. In contrast, the city championships in Solingen and Wuppertal are very popular, whereby the Solingen Hallenmaster in particular on the first weekend in January and the Wuppertal Hallen City Championship, in which the regional league team WSV regularly takes part.

The last termination of the district hall cup in Remscheid took place in 2017 and ended due to an incident with a fight and police operation. However, there is hope for improvements, since the Hallen Masters in the common district of Remscheid/Solingen could offer a new option in the coming season. There was also an agreement between the football circle and the SV 09/35 regarding a large youth tournament. Outstanding is the current injury situation of the Born footballers, especially that of Linus Rämsch.
