Drug controls in Bonn: Police caught several drivers!

On March 19, 2025, the Bonn police carried out extensive traffic controls in Bonn-Bornheim the previous day, March 18. A total of 27 police officers were involved in the checkpoints in Bonn-Mehlem and Bornheim. 127 vehicles were checked during the controls, with suspicion of drug influence was determined in two cases. The corresponding drug rapid tests were positive and investigative procedures were initiated and blood samples were taken.

In addition, the officials found eight cases of non -stroked drivers, which led to a warning money. A total of 40 warning funds were imposed due to various traffic violations, while in three cases reports were sent to the road traffic offices to check the suitability of the drivers. These measures are part of the intensive efforts of the police to increase traffic safety and combat drug abuse in road traffic.

The situation of the drug offenses in the region is alarming. In 2022, 1,149 cases were registered in the Rhein-Sieg district, which resulted in a clearance rate of 92 percent.
