New burger paradise in Bornheim: Lala Smash Burger enthusiastic!

On January 7, 2025, Ewald Scheidt opened the "Lala Smash Burger" restaurant on Saalburgallee in Frankfurt, on the premises of the former traditional restaurant Rüth. The restaurant quickly made a name for itself and attracts guests from the area, including Darmstadt and Groß-Gerau. The concept is based on a burger buffet where guests can prepare their own Smash Burger.

The menu offers both a beef Patty and a vegan New York Bean Patty at a price of 8.50 euros each. The Smash Burger is prepared by pressing the meat onto the grill plate, making them crispy and juicy. French fries as an accompanying position cost 4 euros. In addition, guests can individually occupy their burgers on a do-it-yourself counter, with seasonal ingredients such as red cabbage, cranberries, bacon, avocado, pineapple and various homemade sauces.

The guest room of the Lala Smash Burger was extensively renovated to create a bright and cozy atmosphere. The old dark wood style was replaced by white walls and a wooden ceiling, supplemented by small tables and cozy seating. Ewald Scheidt, who studied business administration and previously developed an Italian restaurant concept in Kronberg, would like to live out his passion for gastronomy and direct contact with people with this restaurant.

The restaurant received special attention from the already booked all-you-can-eat evenings. Long drinks, beer, cocktails and selected wines, which are offered from 6 euros, are on the beverage menu. Another highlight is the afterwork special on Fridays, in which the Aperol Spritz is available for 4 euros. In summer, guests can use the terrace of the restaurant.

The opening times of the restaurant are Monday to Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 0:00 and Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The restaurant remains closed on Wednesdays. The concept of the restaurant is based on the current Smash burger trend, in which the patties are pressed flat, crispy and juicy. The ingredients come almost exclusively from regional dealers, and the vegan Patty is homemade, based on black beans and seitan. In addition to the regular offer, the restaurant plans special events such as a mulled wine special and live music evenings that are intended to further establish the LALA Smash Burger as a social meeting point.
