Roofing fire in Niederkassel: Family escapes the fire!

on December 28, 2024, around 3:00 p.m., there was a fire in the roof structure in a single -family house in the Niederkassel district of Mondorf. The residents, a family of seven, were able to save themselves in good time and unharmed.

The fire brigade was deployed with the fire trucks Mondorf, Rheidt, Niederkassel and Troisdorf-Bergheim to extinguish the fire. Unfortunately, the fire affected was damaged so much by the fire that it is uninhabitable and the roof structure is in danger of collapsing. Due to the extinguishing work, the Langgasse had to be blocked for about an hour and a half and the Adenauerplatz to the evening.

Details on the cause of the fire and the affected family

The exact causes of the fire are currently still unclear. However, it is not excluded that a technical defect was available. After the incident, the family was able to save the bare essentials from the ground floor and is now temporarily housed in family members.
