Experience nature! Hike on Via Celtica on April 6th in Biedenkopf!

On Sunday, April 6, 2025, the OHGV Biedenkopf invites you to an exciting hike on the demanding premium hiking trail "via Celtica". The event starts at 9 a.m. on the market square in Biedenkopf, where the participants can meet for carpooling. The goal of the hike is the parking lot at the Kulturhalle in Dotzlar, a district of Bad Berleburg.

The route itself extends over 15 kilometers and includes a height difference of 600 meters. A hiking time of around five hours is planned. Due to the steep passages, good condition and solid shoes are recommended. The participants should also be equipped with a daily backpack that contains sufficient food and drinks. Guests are welcome. The premium hiking trail "via Celtica"

The "Via Celtica" is not just a hiking trail, but a piece of cultural history that focuses on the human-natural relationship of the Celts. There are 14 anchor points along the way that offer exciting insights into history and nature. A breathtaking view opens up to hikers in the upper Eder valleys.

The path is characterized by its demanding sections, which is why good condition and solid footwear are essential. Nature lovers will get their money's worth on the numerous special habitats along the way, including Glatthafenwiesen, natural rivers and juniper heaths. The path leads past various starting points, including the hiking car park in Dotzlar and the parking lot at the Ederbrücke in Arfeld.

For arrival, both public transport and parking facilities are available on site. Stops in Dotzlar Scheid and Bad Berleburg invite you to an environmentally friendly journey. The journey by car takes place to the hiking car park in Dotzlar, accessible via Laubrother Straße, Eichenstraße.

For strengthening during or after the hike, participants can visit various restaurants in the area. Including the "Zum Bahnhof" inn, Café Hainbach and the railway café in the Via-Addentrina Center, all of which are in Bad Berleburg-Narrow.
