Beckum goes digital: starting shot for innovative administrative services!
On March 3, 2025, the city of Beckum officially decided to join the d-nrw . With this step, the city pursues the goal of expanding its digital administrative services and significantly increasing the efficiency of its services. The D-NRW, a legal institution under public law (Aör), primarily acts in the interests of its municipal shareholders and promotes cooperation in the e-government between municipalities and the state in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Over 350 North Rhine-Westphalian municipalities already use the possibilities that D-NRW offers to optimize legal and organizational aspects of digital administration. Beckum is given access to various cooperation projects in the field of information technology and e-government through accession.
advantages of accession
connected with membership is the transfer of a one -time share capital of 1,000 euros, which is paid back in the event of an outlet. Although this requires an initial investment, the city expects to achieve significant savings in time and effort through the new uses. Beckum has already implemented several online services, including applications for housing benefit, maintenance advance and the volunteer card app NRW.
The sponsorship at D-NRW also enables tender-free in-house orders of services in accordance with the online access law (OZG). This regulation supports a citizen -oriented and efficient administrative action and strengthens the digital infrastructure in the city.
The frame for digital administration
The cooperation between the municipalities within the D-NRW aims to meet the basic standards and framework conditions of the E-Government Act (EGOVG NRW) and the OZG. These legal requirements are crucial for the successful digitization of administrative processes in North Rhine-Westphalia. The D-NRW coordinates the development of online services, ensures that the offers enable user-oriented application processes and electronic communication, and ensures that the administrative processes are broken-out.
A central aspect is the register modernization that aims to digitize paper registers. This includes the creation of common data standards and the implementation of data protection and security measures to improve data quality and optimize the administrative processes.
The digital transformation in Germany was initiated by the 2017 online access law, the aim of which was to provide digital access to administrative services across the board by the end of 2022. Although this goal was only partially realized, various initiatives have shown progress, also in Beckum. With the accession to the D-NRW, the city will not only expand its existing digital services, but also actively contribute to the extensive implementation of the e-government.
Overall, the rapidly developing digital landscape in the administration will benefit both citizens and companies by giving information and services more faster and more user -friendly, which is a significant reform for the future.
