Klever Gallen: Agroforst project starts with 349 new trees!
Scientists from the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences have launched an innovative project that examines the combination of agriculture and forest. From January 7, an Agroforst demonstration area will be created on an area of 3.3 hectares in the Klever gallery. This form of agroforstwirtschaft integrates trees and shrubs into agricultural areas.
Today, at the groundbreaking on Monday, the first tree was already placed on the urban property in Kleve, where a total of 349 trees and trees are planted in special strips. The cultivation of corn takes place between the trees. Previously, snacks grew there that contributed to soil health. This new extension should not only increase crop yields, but also promote ecologically sustainable practices, such as the reporting of RP online
